Powering Trafalgar Golf Club with Solar and Battery Storage

  • Location: Trafalgar, Victoria, Australia
  • System details: 1 × S35B125 with 35 kWp solar, 125 kWh battery storage and a 50 kVA backup diesel generator
  • Purpose: Offsetting a portion of the club’s electricity use, with relocation capability for temporary emergency response

Trafalgar Golf Club’s S35B125 combines solar generation, battery storage and diesel backup to support everyday electricity needs. The system is also intended to be relocated to provide temporary power for emergency response.

Modular solar and battery storage supporting Trafalgar Golf Club’s everyday energy needs, with a second role providing temporary power during emergencies.

The Challenge

The Trafalgar Golf Club project brings together two energy needs: supplying power for everyday club operations and making temporary power available for emergency response.

The solution needed to offset a portion of the club’s electricity consumption while retaining the flexibility to be relocated when required. This meant combining solar generation and battery storage in a system that could serve the club and support emergency operations elsewhere.

The Deployment

Trafalgar Golf Club has installed an S35B125 system combining:

  • 35 kWp of solar generation capacity
  • 125 kWh of battery storage
  • 50 kVA backup diesel generator

The system is designed to supply solar energy for the club’s electricity needs, with battery storage allowing energy to be stored for later use. A diesel generator provides backup power.

This configuration brings solar generation, energy storage and backup generation together to support the club’s daily operations.

Power That Can Move Where It’s Needed

The installation’s role extends beyond Trafalgar Golf Club.

During an emergency, the system is intended to be relocated to provide temporary power for response activities. Its ability to move gives the deployment a purpose beyond its everyday use at the club.

The Trafalgar Golf Club project demonstrates how modular energy infrastructure can support daily electricity needs while remaining available for temporary emergency response.
